Let’s have a walk!
How do we get men to talk about their mental health? That was the starting point of the ‘Men-tal Health’ project. As you could read in their first blog ‘Men-tal Health’.
They came up with two phases within their project:
Confession Box
“What was the lowest point you experienced mentally during your time at university?”
Post results on bulletin board
We are hoping this initiative will allow students at the UT to feel more heard and supported, whilst creating a more supportive environment, through a sense of relatability.
They have successfully produced and placed a confession box in the university library. And have received some great early on success, with the box being almost completely full after 2 days!
Men’s Mental Health Walk
Walk with pit stops for male students to open up about the problems they face
We are hoping to ‘open up the conversation’, creating a snowball effect, where men feel more comfortable talking to each other about the issues they face, whilst making male students at our university feel heard.
