Stigma Vulnerable Masculinity

Do you ever struggle with social anxiety in large gatherings of new people? The kick-off of  Grensverleggers was well attended by group leaders and invitees over the first weekend. This, according to the group, is a concrete summary of how the weekend unfolded. The "Stigma Vulnerable Masculinity" team has known each other since the beginning of the school year, which has fostered strong cohesion and a pleasant atmosphere within the group. In this group, there are strong opinions, love, tension, laughter, and ample space to be oneself. We've let our perception of the team be painted around the theme we've chosen: promoting vulnerability in male friend groups aged 18 to 50.

During the first semester of this school year, our team conducted two studies related to masculinity. Some members explored vulnerable masculinity in general, while others investigated the influence of male friend groups on sexually inappropriate behavior towards women. We merged our findings to strengthen our understanding of the topic.

Over the weekend, we gained insights into the Grensverleggers method and the knowledge it offers. We received assistance in developing an action plan to refine our product idea. What emerged was a desire to let men think for themselves and provide input on the final product idea.

The team hit the streets to interview men within the specified age groups, totaling about 25 interviews. Initially daunting, as time passed, it became easier and enjoyable. We engaged in meaningful conversations and received affirmation that our idea could work. Without further ado about our product idea, let me share it with you! We aim to create a card game to be distributed and played by male friend groups without judgment. Our goal is to make it appealing to various age groups by incorporating a diverse range of questions. By not labeling it as a game solely about male vulnerability but rather mixing it with different topics, we hope to attract a broader audience. The positive feedback from our interviewees gave us confidence. We plan to flesh out this idea during the second weekend.
